Jason Momoa Is Leading A Revolt Against Hawaii’s Thirty Meter Telescope

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015

Please help support Jason.

When Khal Drogo talks, people listen.

And when Jason Momoa — the part Native Hawaiian actor who played the fierce warlord on “Game of Thrones” — takes a stand for his real-life homeland, his fans and celebrity friends join the cause.

The Honolulu-born actor joined an impassioned group of environmentalists and Native Hawaiian activists on Thursday on Hawaii’s Big Island to protest the construction of a $1.4 billion telescope on a remote spot atop Mauna Kea volcano.

The telescope, known as the Thirty Meter Telescope, is slated to be one of the world’s largest and most powerful, but the site is considered sacred by Native Hawaiians.

Momoa has flooded his Instagram feed with photos supporting the protesters and is urging his celebrity friends to support the cause by signing a Change.org petition to “immediately halt all TMT-related construction” and “stop all arrests” of “those standing in protection of Mauna Kea.”

So far, hundreds of people have joined the protest on the dormant volcano’s summit and at least 31 people have been arrested.

Aquaman In Justice League Will Get Jason Momoa’s Professionalism & Humor

Friday, April 3rd, 2015

Jason Momoa will make a cameo in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and then we’ll get a real good look at his Aquaman in Justice League: Part 1 (2017).

Justice League is quite a ways off. We don’t have scripts and stuff like that,” Momoa told The Hollywood Reporter at a press event for his Sundance television series Red Road. “I’ll bring my professionalism there. I’ll bring my sense of humor. Hopefully people will like that. If they don’t I’ll modify it.”

Thankfully, Snyder didn’t make us wait until 2016, or 2017, to see Momoa dressed as the King of the Seven Seas. In February, the Batman v Superman director tweeted an official look at Momoa in his superhero armor and his weapon of choice, a trident.

“Michael [Wilkinson], the head costume designer, he created all of that,” Momoa explained. “I basically just showed up and he made it happen. And It’s all Zack, through his genius mind.”

Aquaman swims into theaters July 27th, 2018.

But decided to make a bright new layout for the site since all the other past layouts have been a bit dark. Hope you enjoy it and more updates and gallery images to be added. Jason was photographed out and about and I will be adding those shortly.

Game Of Thrones star Jason Momoa signs on to play ‘bad-a**’ comic book hero Aquaman for four films

Tuesday, December 9th, 2014

Some exciting news! Jason has signed on for four films as the comic book hero Aquaman. Congrats to Jason and we are all very excited to see what is in store for the films.

Jason Momoa has signed up to play Aquaman in four films.

The 35-year-old actor revealed he has agreed to portray the sea-based DC Comics superhero in three further movies after he appears in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Momoa insists the character is going to be ‘bad-a**’ and he can’t wait for people to see him on screen.

He revealed his DC film deal during a panel appearance at the Comic-Con Experience in Brazil, adding: ‘He will be a bad-a**, otherwise they wouldn’t cast me for the role.’

At the event, Momoa also revealed he wants Zack Snyder – who helmed Man of Steel and will take control of the sequel and subsequent Justice League films – to direct the standalone Aquaman movie due for release in July 2018.

As well as Momoa, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will see Henry Cavill back as Superman, Ben Affleck portraying Batman, Jesse Eisenberg appearing as villain Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as butler Alfred Pennyworth, Amy Adams returning as Lois Lane and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

‘Wolves,’ movie review

Thursday, November 13th, 2014

Review from nydailynews.com.

Werewolf tale adds some welcome nuttiness to lupine terror, with help from Jason Momoa and Lucas Till

The first 30 minutes of this cheap-looking monster drama are admittedly rough going. But once the “Twilight”-meets-“Sons of Anarchy” silliness kicks in, there’s a lovable lunacy at work.

Lucas Till (“X-Men: Days of Future Past”) is Cayden, a troubled kid going through irregular growing pains. Turns out he’s a teen wolf, but not the fun, Michael J. Fox kind. After Cayden accidentally kills his family (not a spoiler), he hits the road and winds up at a quiet little lycanthropic community where mellow “town” wolves live alongside vicious “mountain” wolves. Jason Momoa of “Game of Thrones” plays a mean Alpha who not only has a connection to Cayden, but a plan to continue the lupine pure bloodline.

The script has many tongue-in-cheek moments. Soon to be seen as Aquaman in “Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” Momoa has an appealing top-dog swagger. The whole flick is playful and spirited, and self-aware enough to ensnare genre-loving young adults.
